This award is for a new product designed and/or manufactured in Scotland which was put on the market between October 2016 and September 2017 which has the potential to drive significant new sales.


Engineering Company of the Year

This award is for a Scottish based engineering company involved in manufacturing which demonstrates its ability to innovate and make an impact in the market it operates in between October 2016 and September 2017.


Exporter of the Year

This award is for a Scottish based company which demonstrates its success in exporting Scottish made products between October 2016 and September 2017.


Food and Drink Company of the Year

This award is for a Scottish based food and drink company which demonstrates it has made significant progress between between October 2016 and September 2017. The judges will be looking for examples of innovation in manufacturing processes to improve profitability as well as product development, marketing and sales performance.


Innovator of the Year

This award is for a Scottish based manufacturer which used innovation in the production process which had a measurable effect on the bottom line between October 2016 and September 2017.

Inventor of the Year

This award is for a Scottish based inventor who has launched or created a product or process between October 2016 and September 2017 with substantial commercial potential.


Life Sciences Company of the Year

This award is for a Scottish based life sciences company which demonstrates its ability to innovate and make an impact in the market it operates in between October 2016 and September 2017.


Manufacturer of the Year

This award is for the most outstanding manufacturer in Scotland which demonstrates innovation, a commitment to excellence, sales growth and increased profitability between October 2016 and September 2017.


Young Innovator of the Year

This award is for a person under the age of 25 (at the point of entry 3rd March 2018) who has developed an innovative product or process between October 2016 and September 2017 with commercial potential.


Made in Scotland Award

All the previous category winners are eligible for this award which recognises the most outstanding entry for the awards.


Remade in Scotland

Sponsored by The Scottish Institute for Remanufacturing

This award is for Scottish companies of any size and in any sector which demonstrate innovation within the design and/or manufacturing process which contribute to extending product lifecycles and diverting waste from landfill through reuse. The judges will be looking for examples of products or processes that demonstrate an economic, environmental or cultural impact in Scotland.   Any process or product whereby an item is reused, remanufactured or refurbished to extend its lifecycle is eligible to apply.
